- How long will it take to get my order ?
We despatch most orders within 24 hours and you will receive it via courier within 1 day of despatch. If you live outside of a major city in South Africa it might need an additional day or two. If the products you ordered are out of stock we will inform you of any order delays.
- What forms of payment are accepted ?
We accept payments via credit card (Visa, Mastercard). All payments are processed by Standard Bank in South African Rands
We accept direct deposits into Standard Bank in South African Rands.
Compared to Credit Card transactions; Bank deposits require a significant extra administrative effort, and generally take a day or two longer to process. We are once again accepting bank deposits.
- Is it safe to enter my credit card details online ?
When you enter your credit card details online via our checkout page they are encrypted with SSL which means that the details you enter arrive us without the possibility of a 3rd party accessing this information. Industry standard 128-bit encryption is used.
All our payments are processed via Paygate who are a leading South African online payment processor and using the highest levels of Internet encryption.
- What is a wishlist ?
Your wishlist is a list of items that you would like to buy but are not yet ready to purchase. This is a feature available for registered Organics Online customers and when you find a product you like, you have the option to add it to your "wishlist". This is an easy way to keep track of products you would like to buy at Organics Online. You can also send your wishlist to a friend perhaps a week or so before your birthday or wedding aniversary!
- What is your refund and returns policy ?
We will gladly refund you in full for any product you may purchase from Organics Online that you are not completely happy with. Simply contact our customer care department and they will advise you how to return your product. Once received we will refund your card in full. In the case of you returning part of an order, we will refund you for the items returned. Simple as that!
- Do you sell gift vouchers ?
Yes of course we do! You can purchase various denominations of Gift Vouchers from Organics Online and then gift a friend or loved one the gift of spiritual nectarian books! Simply visit our Gift Voucher aisle and add them to your shopping cart!
Once you have completed payment, you will receive your gift voucher as a credit balance in your account where upon you can e-mail the voucher to a person of your choosing.
- Do you have a gift facility ?
Yes we do. First select the items you want to send as a gift.
Then go to the services section, where you will find gift wrap ribbons and card. Select the one you like.
Please fill in any messages or special instructions in the order comment section. Also tell us something about the recipient, like the age, sex and the occasion so we can select suitable gift wrap and cards.
Remember to give the delivery address of the recipient rather than your regular delivery address. The system can record many delivery addresses for you.
- What should I do if I forget my Organics Online password?
You can go to http://www.organicsonline.co.za/password_forgotten.php
and you will be issued with a new temporary password via Email. Login with this password and reset your password as you wish.
- How do I purchase a Gift Voucher ?
Simply visit the Gift Voucher Aisle and add your selected voucher(s) to your shopping cart. NB: It is a good idea if purchasing vouchers to purchase them independatly and not to combine a Gift Voucher Purchase with the purchasing of any physical items such as books.
Once you've completed your order and we have processed your payment we will activate your Gift Voucher and you will receive an e-mail confirming this. You can then login to your account and in your shopping cart you will see your Gift Voucher value. You can now send vouchers to friends and family using the Send Voucher link.
- How do I send a Gift Voucher to someone ?
Once you've purchased your Gift Voucher and the balance is in your Organics Online account, simply option to Send Voucher and enter the name and e-mail of the person who is to receive the voucher. Once this form is completed an eVoucher with a special Gift Voucher code will be sent to your friend. You can add a custom message for example a birthday or aniversary greeting.
- How do I use my Gift Voucher for a purchase ?
Once you've received your gift voucher, the funds will show in your Gift Voucher Account and you can use those funds to purchase other items in our store. At the checkout stage, an extra tick box will appear in the section under Gift Vouchers and Discount Coupons. Selecting this tick box will apply those funds in your Gift Voucher Account. Please note:
You will still have to select another payment method if there is not enough in your Gift Voucher Account to cover the cost of your purchase. If you have more funds in your Gift Voucher Account than the total cost of your purchase the balance will be left in you Gift Voucher Account for future purchases.
- How do I redeem a Gift Voucher I've been sent by e-mail ?
If you receive a Gift Voucher by email it will contain details of who sent you the Gift Voucher, along with possibly a short message from them. The Email will also contain the Gift Voucher Number. You can now redeem the Gift Voucher in two ways:
1. By clicking on the link contained within the email for this express purpose. This will take you to the store's Redeem Voucher page. you will the be requested to create an account, before the Gift Voucher is validated and placed in your Gift Voucher Account ready for you to spend it on whatever you want.
2. During the checkout procces, on the same page that you select a payment method there will be a box to enter a Redeem Code. Enter the code here, and click the redeem button. The code will be validated and added to your Gift Voucher account. You Can then use the amount to purchase any item from our store.
- Is it possible for the courier to phone me to indicate when the delivery will be made as I am not always at home?
We have had this request before, and have passed it on to the courier with mixed results. The courier company replied in the past with a flat NO, but they have sometimes done it anyway.
This is one reason why the majority of customers are currently choosing postal deliveries (you get a slip in the box and collect from the counter), and to date these have been pretty reliable. Of course the post office is also a lot cheaper.
- Where can I get a pricelist?
There is no price list. This is because, the list and price of items currently available is constantly changing, as existing items are sold out, and new items are stocked. There is currently a significant supply problem for organic produce in South Africa. This means we can not always replace items that have been sold out. Some items move too slowly, and will probably not be restocked. We are always on the lookout for new items that interest our customers. To make the matter more complex, those items that are in stock have changing prices. Unlike a conventional store where changing prices can involve remarking the stock, we can (and do) launch a sale in just a few minutes. There is always something on a sale at a special price. The sales have a start and end date, so the price can revert to the 'standard' price without our intervention.
All the above means that a price list would be out of date almost as soon as it was downloaded. Rather than provide misleading information, we simply don't have a price list. The prices of all items are visible on the site, reflecting any current special offers, and items out of stock are not visible at all.
- I dont see meat or fish products on your site, why is that?
Initially we looked at the kinds of products we could sell without a cold chain, and quickly realized that there were very few suitable non-vegetarian products available. The first one that came to mind was biltong, which is significantly over traded, and which no-one buys without first tasting.
Then we realized that keeping the produce vegetarian makes things a lot easier for anyone with religious food considerations. Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs and many health and environmentally concious Christians avoid certain or all non-vegetarian produce. Just being vegetarian does not give our products a Kosher or Halaal or any other certification, but it does satisfy many people to know that they are keeping to the spirit of their laws.
The Organics industry is concerned both with the health concerns around the produce we use, and the environmental impact of their production processes. The environmental impact of vegetarian produce is far, far smaller than that of meat, fish or poultry. For this reason many people are either limiting or eliminating non-vegetarian produce from their diets.
In the end we decided to stay vegetarian, it is what we believe in, and we wont be changing that anytime soon for the few products we could add to our range.
